Dr. Sesay has been the Head of the Electronics & Computer Engineering Department for the past 5 years. The department is highly regarded on an international level in areas such as the telecommunication, biomedical, power, signal and image processing, microelectronics, computer and software engineering. They have strategically built on areas such as, Wireless Technologies, Biomedical Engineering and Microelectronics, with a focus of applying these technologies in the Health Care Sector.

Abu is responsible for the department's budget as well as teaching graduate students. During his educational career, he earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1988. Dr. Sesay is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is an active individual who enjoys working out in the time away from his busy schedule.
